Privacy Policy

snoopspecial is a music curation site operated by Mezzoly, LLC ("we", "us"). We try to collect as little as we can and tell you plainly what we do with what we collect.

What we collect

  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to count page views, see which playlists and artists are popular, and find broken pages. GA4 sets cookies and records information such as your IP address (truncated), device type, browser, referring page, and the pages you visit on this site.
  • Advertising. We use Google AdSense to show ads. AdSense and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at google.com/settings/ads and learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
  • Newsletter. If you submit your email address to our newsletter form, we store it so we can send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter we send.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) keeps short-term request logs that include IP address, user agent, and the URL requested. These are used for abuse prevention and reliability.

Cookies and consent

Outside the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland, analytics and personalized advertising run by default so we can measure traffic and keep the site free. You can opt out at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer: declining switches Google Analytics off and limits ads to non-personalized.

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland, analytics is off and ads are non-personalized by default, and both turn on only if you opt in — consistent with Google's EU User Consent Policy, the ePrivacy Directive, and the GDPR. We detect your region from your connection's country (via Cloudflare) solely to apply the correct default; the analytics tag itself loads on every page but sends only cookieless signals until you consent.

How your information is used

  • To understand which content is working and improve the site.
  • To serve and measure ads via Google AdSense (subject to your consent where required).
  • To send you the newsletter, if you signed up for it.
  • To respond to messages you send us.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share your email address with third parties beyond the newsletter delivery provider we use to send the newsletter to you.

Third-party services

This site embeds or links to content from third parties — including YouTube, Spotify, Bandcamp, Instagram, and Amazon — which set their own cookies and have their own privacy policies. Affiliate links to Amazon, Bandcamp, and Reverb may track referrals; we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases. We have no control over those services and you should review their policies before interacting with them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hi@snoopspecial.com.

California residents can request the categories of personal information we collect and request deletion at the same address. We do not sell personal information.

Data retention

Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are typically discarded within 30 days.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. The "last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page for a reasonable period.
