About
Oxnard's Brandon Paak Anderson — funk-soul-rap polymath, drummer first, vocalist always, the Dr. Dre 'Compton' (2015) breakout who proceeded to become one of the defining voices of his generation. 'Malibu' (2016) is the swimming-laps-in-the-sun classic; 'Oxnard' and 'Ventura' (both 2018-2019) made him an Aftermath frontman; Silk Sonic with Bruno Mars (2021) won four Grammys and revived 70s soul singing. The Free Nationals are one of the best live bands working. Drummer-as-frontman done at the highest level.
